HFS Or "Eat This, Steinbrenner, You Slimeball"

With all apologies to folks who don't like the phrase "holy fucking shit," holy fucking shit!

Read this: "(By MSGNetwork.com.) Are you a displaced Red Sox fan living in the Tri-State area and miss seeing up-close coverage of your beloved team? Or are you a curious Yankee fan who wants to see how the other half lives on the tube? Just in time for the new MLB season, FSN New York brings you Boston Sports Tonight every night at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. following the Best Damn Sports Show, beginning Monday April 3. Boston Sports Tonight delivers all the Boston-flavored sports news of the day with hosts Gary Tanguay and Greg Dickerson, along with experts, athletes and management to breakdown and analyze the busy Boston sports scene."

After getting a comment from someone named soxroxny (thanks!), which I thought was some kind of bad joke, I looked into this only to find it was true. Fox Sports New York showing Boston Sports Tonight. I don't even know if this show is any good, but on principle, it's a huge win. Too bad I haven't noticed this yet, since it's already been on for over a month. This is also good news for the entire tri-state area, including Fairfield County, who all get FSN-NY.

NOTE TO STUPID PEOPLE AT NESN AND MLB: A NEW YORK STATION IS NOW SHOWING A BOSTON-BASED SHOW, REALIZING THERE ARE BOSTON FANS HERE. I'M NOT ASKING FOR NESN TO BE AIRED IN NYC, BUT MAYBE NOW AT THE VERY LEAST YOU CAN GIVE NESN TO ALL OF NEW ENGLAND, INCLUDING FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CONNECTICUT. HELLO?

Comments:
Jere, it'll take more than CAPS for them to hear you. Try LL directly.

Thanks for the BST review. The NESN thing has been talked about at length in the old days of this blog when I was still living in Fairfield County, and still is talked about over at rebsportspage.blogspot.com.

The cable companies in Fairfield County don't have a choice, because through MLB and NESN's agreement, the official territory of NESN is "all of New England except Fairfield County, Connecticut."

And Peter, I did talk to LL, before the Cabrera walk-off game in '04. Also documented here.

Weird thing is, he said to keep putting pressure on the cable companies--who will tell you what I said above.

It's Steinbrenner's fault.

I actually noticed this the other night. The panel was talking about the Patriot's draft, and I had some stuff to do, so I didn't end up watching. Looking forward to it though.

Hey, this has nothing to do with FSNY, but Dirt Dog is now imploring everyone to cheer for Millar. I'm fine with that, but after seeing him bash mercilessly on Kim, Wily Mo, Manny, Renteria, and now campaigning for Pedro to be booed, does anyone think that he's a little bit racist?

Just sayin'.

Anyone? Try everyone.

I can't wait til boston.com finally gives up on that site and it just goes away.

Steinbrenner must go. Jere, tell him in person. Next time you see his team.

funny, I was just going to write about this. Personally I think FSN should show EVEN MORE Boston sports newsish stuff... in many partsw of the country they have game rights, but not here, so in order to harness some veiwers they should be focusing in on the untapped market of frustrated blacked-out Sox fans. What I saw last night implied to be a weekly show... is there something nightly?

I don't know. I tried to watch it last night here at my parents' in the New Haven area. Looks like they don't get FSN-NY, but they do get Yes and MSG and SNY. And NESN, but no Fox Sports station at all. Maybe they met their limit for NY sports.

Could this have anything to do with the new Met's network, which we do not get here in central CT.? Just curious..

P.S. We only get FSN.NE here. Celtics stuff

SNY is the Mets' network.

FSN-NE & FSN-NY are part of the same collaboration(Cablevision-News Corp), hence ability to import programming.

However, Lord(Of The Flies)Dunbar's Radio Network, has 2 stations in MA, 1 in VT, 1 in NH, 1 in NC, a load in NY, 2 in PA, 1 in NJ, 1 in AZ, 1 in AK & 2 in Las Vegas, NV & "NO" is seen all over CT, parts of MA & Lord knows where else.

& Dunbar NEEDS Protection against Intrusion?
